I’ve acknowledged before that great literary criticism could be academically written about it.
There is in fact a journal/book called The Cultural Politics of Color Blind Casting on Google Books (that unfortunately costs a ridiculous amount of money) that spends a good chunk discussing Bonnie and her mistreatment. I only read part of it, the free portion, that hits the nail on the head. So her treatment has made it to the academic world.
