Day 17
Prompt: bite
Characters: Bonnie Bennett, Tyler Lockwood

It happens in flash.  She doesn’t even realize it, her body so primed with adrenaline.  It is only when Caroline’s eyes go wide that she feels it.  But is the warmth of the blood against her cold skin that gets her first — the burning pain comes when she casts her eyes down to her arm.  

“He got you!” Caroline shrieks and Bonnie nearly winces.  

“Better you than me,” Bonnie says immediately.  She finds herself transfixed by the sight of torn flesh.  Ugly as it is, there is some balance to it — two rows of perfectly indented skin.  Finally, she thinks to cover it with her hand.  She will have to make sure she cleans it properly when she gets home.  

Caroline is already looking in the direction of his escape route (perhaps part of her is wondering if he’ll double back and try again instead of indulging in a night of ripping apart forest creatures).  She takes a deep breath before turning her gaze once more to Bonnie.  “ — I guess that’s the upside?  None of us have to head to New Orleans to prostrate ourselves before the Original Douchebag.”

True.  When a wolf bites a vampire all hell breaks loose.

When he bites a human — no problem.

(except she is not exactly a human now is she?)
