It is isn’t until the day Damon presses her against her car with the express purpose of taking Emily’s necklace from her that she realizes something.

She already knows him.

It hits her hard, nearly knocking her off her feet.  She reaches out, bracing herself against the cold steel of her car to keep from crumbling.  He gives her a quizzical look but she is already pushing past him, ignoring his promise to rip the necklace from her neck if he has to.  She simply moves as fast as she can, desperate to put as much distance between them before the memory grips her so tightly she cannot breathe.

What I love about this is Elena is wearing the warmest jacket, she just can’t deal with the attention not being on her which is accurate to that episode because the entire time it was like “why are you here again?”. Hell that’s how I felt most of season 6 especially in 6×09 when I have no doubt had Damon went alone he would have successfully gotten Bonnie…can’t say the same for Elena.
