It’s funny bc when I started watching tvd Bonnies treatment annoyed me so much that I wanted Kat to leave. Like I could not understand how she stayed on the show but I realised that she was aware of how problematic the writing was but she probably hoped it would change. She was definitely smarter than I thought. And I think it helped her in the long haul, now the shows ended she’s free to do what she wants and she’s getting booked

I think it was a combination of hope and necessity. When the whole boycot happened in 2012 and Plec made her “call of her dogs” she made a post about the adversity she had faced and how poor she was before TVD. It was the most consistent pay check ahe had that allowed her to do other things like pursue music and charities. It also gave her a fan base. She’s grateful for this obviously and says so, but the cost was TVD, and as noted by her attitude now and role choices she’s not going to do that again.

WHAT I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT THIS CRAZY TVD FANDOME IS, WHEN BONNIE IS THREAT THE HELP KLAUS SHE IS THE BIGEST BITCH IN THE WORLD, BUT WHEN IT’S CAROLINE IT’S ROMANTIC, OR EVEN WHEN IT’S ELENA SHE IS THE POOR SWEET GIRL WHO IS FALLEN IN THE ” BAD ” WOLF HAND, THERE IS WHERZ YOU SEE HOW FUCKED UP THIS FANDOME IS!!!!!

I’m unsure, but I don’t think this was a “They died because of you!” gifset. I think this was made to say that many, many people have died before they were supposed to, been put second to Elena, and they all deserved that human life…IMHO, sometimes the show – not just Damon – forgets that every single character deserves this. Matt, Bonnie, Tyler, Caroline — they deserve(d) to live just as much as Elena does.
