Nisha, do you think Bonnie is in fewer episodes than Caroline because of the writers or because of Kat? I feel like she’s always busy doing other things and that why Bonnie’s character hardly gets any consistency, it’s like she just drops by on set and leaves. I wonder if they’d went with another actress of color, would Bonnie have more of a storyline.
Kat has always insisted that she schedules the rest of her work around TVD, and I believe her. The lack of Bonnie is 100% on the writers/execs.
The mistreatment/neglect of characters of color on this show isn’t limited to Bonnie (though hers is the most obvious since she’s the only main character of color), which is why I think it’s a safe assumption that any other black actress in the same role would receive similar treatment.
Carina is full of shit. She latches on to anyone who she thinks is successful and famous. Which is why she’s spoken/interacted with the rest of the tvd cast apart from Kat. Everyone on that show downplayed Kat/Bonnie and now they’re all running back with their little compliments. Honestly just keep the same energy you had before. There’s no need to be fake when your true colours have come out.
I don’t expect much more from someone who contributed to the mess that is the TVD universe.
“It’s probably more of a PR thing at this point.” I agree, it seems like she’s just trying to latch on to someone whose doing well, and it’s not the first time, she’s done it with the rest of the cast and has always excluded Kat now she’s running back because everyone else is flopping. I doubt it’s bc they want her back since carina issnt working on legacies to my knowledge
Yeah I have made it very clear that I haven’t been keeping track of Legacies so I honestly wouldn’t know–I just assumed she was working on it with Plec, she seems like the exact kind of employee Plec would want with her on hand.
I’ve never understood the concept of latching on to successful people–there’s literally nothing to gain there especially in this situation. The only thing she could gain is the “I’m not racist I have a black friend” card which has never worked in the history of ever.
Sooo many y’all say Nina deserves the TCA because it was her last TVD season but her acting has been subpar for years now. Besides where the hell is Trevino’s nomination then? Because he constantly takes my breath away with every short scene he’s given
they act like nina is god’s gift to acting and she actually sucks ass compared to every. other. actress. on. tv.
