Correct me if I’m wrong but I think I came across on of your posts where you were talking about a potential fix where Bonnie and Kai have magic babies after season 6. Or maybe it was someone else

I’m just going to yes it was be because of an ask I just had about the potential power if Bonkai babies and a couple weeks ago I talked about a fic I had in the works that followed in that vein (althoughI kept magic plot hole babies because I liked the contrast between a forced pregnancy and one by choice).

But essentially, yes, Plec wanted Messiah children, and she had two very powerful characters who could produce those messiah children and instead chose Alaric, a human, and Jo, barely had magic, for these children and put them into Caroline, a vampire on a show filled with vampires.

The lengths she went to to make these characters relevant and even then it’s just an extraneous plot would baffle me if it didn’t know she was a) bad at her job, b) writes like a 4 year-old playing with dolls, and c) a racist piece of shit.

The Bennett coven as this powerful clan of southern gothic witches. I am bitter we never truly saw them as a coven in modern times. Bonnie discovers her magic after her mother bound it to keep her safe. And she reconnects with these witch relatives, aunties and cousins

Nothing to add. I’m just as bitter that the only surviving Bennett’s are Abby who’s a Vampire and Bonnie who’s died on multiple occasions. Plec was dead set on wiping out the Bennetts and I’m pretty given the opportunity on Legacies she’s going to do the same so her messiah children can be relevant.

So I have a question: Since dancing is considered really intimate and symbolic in TVD what type of dancing would you give to BonKai?

Probably not quite the answer you’re looking for but I imagine their first dance happening in the prison world but forced on Bonnie to the song “Crazy” by Patsy Cline. It’ll be disturbing and very scary for Bonnie, but that’s kind of Bonkai.

If I was going to insert it into a scene it would be the one after Bonnie wakes up from being shot with a crossbow. She’s weak and in pain, and the song is playing and he wants to dance. He’ll lament about how he’s never felt the way Patsy Cline felt in the song until her, and he’s telling her about the girls he dated pre-inprisonment and how he couldn’t muster up a single feeling, and then soon after stabs him in the neck with a pen.

Their next dance I imagine would be like a combination of my two asks where she gets back to the real world and has trouble adjusting to the lack of violence to the point that she has a violent outburst of magic at a party that kills everyone but her. Kai walks in on the scene and is delighted at the carnage. He walks to the jukebox and turns on “Don’t let me be misunderstood” by Nina Simone and then approaches her. He holds out his hand for them to dance but she’s in no mood due to hysterics. He tells her “it’s just one dance” and she obliges. After that they move awkwardly slow while she cries on his chest.

So essentially I’d give them very dark and twisted dancing for a very dark and twisted ship.

Just remembered. Bonnie and Kai’s offspring will be psychics too, courtesy of Bonnie. They’re gonna be powerful on an unfathomable scale.

Pretty much, at least that’s how I imagine their kids being. They would have stronger magic lines in their blood than any other characters. It still baffles me that Hope’s like the new messiah–she’s barely a witch–when the opportunity for some real messiah children are staring you in the face.

hold on i’m reblogging this again. the fact that this much of a wasted opportunity even exists blows my fucking mind, lol. they had the perfect setup for a spinoff that would make sense (and actually carry the legacy of the first show in a way instead of zagging to the originals). they had the opportunity to make bonnie a hugely incredible character with her own story outside of tvd (because she had more than enough reasons and potential plot points to) and.. didn’t? and then we got the ending we got for her. g a r b a g e

one of yall pointed out how they could’ve given bonnie the magical siphon twins pregancy plot instead of caroline because it wouldve actually made sense, and that shit is gonna keep me up at night. they had it PERECTLY lined up and they just.. didnt? plus it would’ve probably explored the gemini and bennetts more, and most likely not resulted in alaric’s 500th partner being killed

Yep.

The funny thing is, not that many people are a fan of magic baby plots, but Plec is as noted by all the unnecessary impossible pregnancies in the tvd universe. If that’s a plotline she likes that’s fine, but DO IT RIGHT.

She had the opportunity to not make plot holes babies, but ones that make sense with characters that make sense but chose not to because she has always gone out of her way at the expense of the quality of the show to shaft Bonnie.

“Dontrelle let me be misunderstood” by Nina Simone playing while Bonkai slow dance amongst the carnage they’ve so beautifully wrought

“I’m just a soul whose intentions are good.

Oh lord please don’t let me be misunderstood.”

I actually imagine more of a scenario where she caused the carnage and is having trouble accepting what she’s done and Kai holding her while she cries because he’s the only one who gets it. Maybe they’re slow dancing while he’s holding her, but there’s that “what have I done” feel in the air.

What do you think about stefonnie?

This will probably get me in trouble but I’m honestly pretty meh about them, but I’m also pretty meh about Stefan unless he’s in ripper mode or fun sarcastic mode which are sides of him you don’t get to see often because he’s too wrapped up in Elena. So that probably has more to do with my feelings about the ship than the ship itself. I need to care about both characters to get into a ship, it’s why I’ve never liked one Elena ship (although side note: I do actually like Stefonnie and more than SE). Damon is kinda a special case where I only care about him when he’s with Bonnie, but she improved his personality to the point of likability.

In theory it should work because they’re very alike, but I think that’s what makes me meh about it, they’re almost too similar. They’re both very loyal, willing to do anything for loved ones, and always put more effort in than is given back so it would be nice to see those traits finally reciprocated from someone they love, but that’s not enough to keep my attention. For me I just don’t see much outside of that. I don’t get that “missing piece” feel from them.

Like if he showed interest in Bonnie instead of Elena in the Pilot I’m not sure that would make a difference in how I feel about the ship. Same if he was showing more of the traits that I like from his character because even though it would be more of a contrast, it’s not the type of contrast that gives me opposites attract vibes.

But I will say this, I like them more than Kennett, a ship I notoriously can’t get into because it just doesn’t draw me in. Stefonnie does draw me on on a certain level just not on the level of Bonkai, or Tonnie, or even Bamon, but I can get into the ship.

So I guess my official answer is I like the ship, but it doesn’t make me all giddy inside.
