haha right here’s the thing about that new promo

when kai was trying to get bonnie to trust him, he told her she was brave and kind and loyal not just cuz that’s what she wanted to hear, but because he had witnessed her being all those things during those months he watched her and damon

sure he was trying to deceive, but he drew the right conclusions about her because he saw her as a complex person, although he’d never admit to that

you can totally tell he begrudgingly respects that she is selfless and good, but also a complete badass. there is a love/hate thing going on inside kai’s head about bonnie bennett cuz she’s both nice and warm and cute but also judgemental and mean and dangerous. 

u see the complexity? the multiple levels of like/dislike going on?

so you know what? he’s going to use it and mock the hell out of it, too

which means

“i’m nervous cuz you’re so pretty” translates into “lol unlike the rest of your posse, i’m not fucking nervous at all but i’m going to tease you and make you think so because damon salvatore has a thing for you and i want to piss him off”

i mean in the same promo he also states he always wins
