It seemed ooc for the things implied abt him. But I guess it did make it sadder when Katie died. It was just a weird thing overall? Like a baby was just born and there were raving junkies and The Contagious around and he’s just confessing his love for this lady TO HIS EX-GF WHO IS THE CURRENT GF OF HIS BFF WTF EVEN

So pretty much Plec can’t write romance in general which is sad, but I’m kinda glad that her terrible writing isn’t exclusive to TVD, it’s just worse there.

Although I think I would have much preferred the show making Katie’s death about her son’s pain than Jake’s because him losing her seemed more like a ‘missed connection’ situation than losing the ‘love of you life’. Maybe it’s because I’m a little unemotional as person and thus I don’t hold romance in such high regard, but that should have been more about a boy losing his mother than that guy she dated for all of a week and a half. I’ll give Chris this, his acting was on point — it’s not his fault that he got trapped in bad writing.
