Dan and Blair deserved better than have a healthy developed relationship about mutual support, feeling save and loved, but got separate, because they had to choice the worst variant of relationship(from which they left hurt and broken), because of mad fans.

I agree they had a nice progression that should have actually led somewhere instead of dropped for more of the same thing that yielded no development. I was never opposed to Chair or Derena (and still am not) but by the end of the show I didn’t really care who ended up with who because watching them do the same thing over and over again got so mind numbingly boring that I just wanted it to end. So ending on Dair would have been nice fresh and quite a lovely journey to rewatch. Plus the Chair, Derena ending felt so forced, it was like they were going back to them because they didn’t know what else to do.

Thinking back on it, endgames I would have liked would be Dair, Jenny x Nate because I never quite got over that one, and despite the fact that I would have wanted him to explore more Eric x Jonathan (although I’m blanking on the finale kind of so they may have actually been endgame). Chuck and Serena go figure your lives out because watching you do the same thing over and over and over again was too exhausting for me to care who either of them ended up with. And Vanessa, I feel like they should have done more with her beyond making her a plot device they dropped in at random unrelated moments. She was there to show contrast of the other side of the spectrum, but never quite did. Although her ending was kind of nice in that it was away from the UES and doing what she loved which is the best you can really hope for from a character they set up like that.

On a weird unrelated note I kind of liked Dan and Georgina as a BROTP, they had a nice dynamic and I kinda wished that the baby was actually his because 1) that storyline wouldn’t be a predictable waste of time and 2) we would have gotten to see more of them together having to be cooperative.

Although, please note I haven’t watched or rewatched the show since the finale so there might be a lot I’m forgetting.
