damnation
In a perfect world…
It would be you and me in that house. We’d raise our children there and make sure they’d know they are loved. You’d learn how to read and be the school teacher you always wanted to be. And then you’d come home everyday to me and tell me about your day, and I’d tell you about mine. The kids, of course would jump in and tell you about any and everything, and we’d just soak it all in, in awe of how we got so lucky.
But this isn’t a perfect world. I’m me and you’re you, and the world ain’t ready for that. So in the meantime we’ve got to protect ourselves and protect each other because ain’t nobody else goin’ to.
Ship names
What is Bessie x Creeley’s ship name? Louver? Turnin? Cressie? Beeley? Burner?
I’m partial to Louver, but seriously what is their ship name, and if there isn’t one what should we give them and subsequently start tagging.
The sappy part of me wanted Bessie to run into Creeley while she was running around in that corn field.
Same then I realized how far and long it will take for Creeley to get back into town. .. he’s a whole train ride away.😢
Luckily we got the great train scene which is why sappy instincts like that don’t get written

Damnation 1×04 – The Emperor of Ice Cream
I think Seth just learned something important about Creeley.
I know I’m probably not supposed to but I actually prefer Creeley to Seth.
Seth’s whole life is subterfuge and Creeley is relatively upfront with things (except being illiterate). I know some of my preference has to do with his relationship with Bessie (and the fact that I’ve always liked LMG). But Creeley treats Bessie with more respect than anyone in her life. He also seems to be the only person who doesn’t have issue with the fact that she’s black (including her own father). And he was a helluva lot more honest with her (purportedly just a pro and an employee that he has a business arrangement with) than Seth is with a woman who really is or has been pretending long-term to be his wife. I don’t know but that just seems like a huge red flag on Seth to me.
So I have to say for the record, I don’t know how much of Seth’s version of events from their mutual childhood I actually believe.
Definitely isn’t just you. I went into this show fully expecting to root for Seth. But his story and how violent he can be makes me suspicious about whether he’s really a preacher.
Creeley’s appreciation of Bessie absolutely make me like him more but Seth’s story made me sympathize with him. I do believe that Seth told the truth about their father just because he seemed to really underestimate how equally violent Creeley could be. Seth was totally shocked in episode 4 thinking Creeley was still the soft hearted boy he remembered.
I’m sort of rooting for both guys at the moment.
All I know is that there’s no character I hate 100% beside the psedo KKK members (I can’t remember what they call them at the moment but they’re essentially the KKK). They can jump off a cliff and die for all I care.
But overall there’s a nice dynamic going where no one is in the 100% right, but as of right now I’m more wary of Seth because he basically operates under a code of self-righteousness. Sure what he does for the most part is for the good of the people, but I can very easily see that becoming hypocrisy.
Creeley however is just a man with a job trying to survive. I can trust that, I can understand it thus I’m less wary when it comes to him. Also I love the way he is with Bessie. He respects her, he protects her and doesn’t expect her to reciprocate anything back. He takes whatever she’s willing to give. Like when those KKK men come he gives her his gun at the detriment of his self and is in no way upset that she left him afterwards. They’re just so beautiful together.
