Tequila

He was right, she did not want to see him on tequila. At
first she thought he’d do something crazy like run naked through the neighborhood.
Or maybe he’d go full psycho and start killing people, but she could not have
predicted this blackout drunk man-child.

He was slouched on her couch shouting whatever thing popped
in his head, and there was a lot rattling up there.

“I used to think Pamela Anderson was the hottest person I’ve
ever seen.”

“Alright, that’s enough. Up! Up!”  She grabbed his hands and tried to pull him
up off her couch.

“Whoa, you know there are like three of you.”

“I’m sure there are.”

“You’re all like really hot,” he said smiling dopily at her.
“Are you all here to punish me? Because that would be awesome.”

“No we’re not here to punish you, we just want you off my
couch.”

“Ahh,” he whined. “Come on, tie me up, have your wicked way
with me.” He pulled his hands out of her grip and pulled them together above
his head.

“As exciting as a night of sloppy kisses and whiskey dick
sounds, Imma pass.”

“I don’t have whiskey dick,” he said indignantly grabbing
his crotch. “See, rock solid.” He winked. “All for you baby,” he said proudly.

“I’ll pay you a hundred bucks if you never call me baby
again.”

Failed Bonkai Drafts [5/5]

So this one had a great opener, but I couldn’t figure out what more to write so I decided to use that opener and pair it with an edit. It’s not quite a failed draft since I did end up going with it as noted here, but it’s a failed one to me because it was supposed to be something more, but my brain couldn’t come up with anything else.

Great Taste:

She’s never had great taste in men. First there was Ben, she was halfway through planning their wedding in her head before he kissed her and ruined everything. Then there was Shane, no one had ever made her feel as powerful as he did and that’s why she threw out all caution when it came to him and gave him every part of her. The consequences of that were monumental. And now there’s Kai.

She should have known something was wrong with him the moment she felt attracted to him, she’s never had great taste in men. But she fell for him and didn’t even realize it. He was first just someone she could explore mentally, magically, and physically.

She realizes she should have done her homework beforehand searched for more clues that he was a sociopath, but it was too late now, she was all in she just hoped he was too.

[1] [2] [3] [4

Do you remember TVD explaining if a siphoner takes very little from a witch, it wont hurt? I’m being told Kai hurt Bonnie because he took too much but I’m not sold. I think I remember something about the twins siphoning Caroline in the womb and I believe it almost killed her. How were the twins able to siphon Caroline anyway when she’s just a vampire? Unless the Gemini coven gave her a magical womb? Come to think of it, maybe mama Parker almost died when birthing Kai & that’s why they hated him.

I don’t remember that ever being explained, it may have been a one off line from Valerie, but I don’t think she mentioned Kai at all. Even if it was I’m definitely not sold because I feel as though it should have come up more during S8 when they were siphoning Caroline on accident, even that speech Bonnie gives them, it’s not about how much they siphon it’s just about control overall.

In reference to Caroline, she dead, literally, the only thing keeping her alive was magic so being pregnant with babies who can siphon magic and have no control or probably idea what is happening literally means death for her. That’s how they got magic.

I doubt that siphoning Mama Parker would kill her because magic isn’t what was keeping her alive plus Jo was there as well so he wouldn’t even be solely siphoning her. Them hating Kai was probably just their own prejudice because if I recall, the heretics were apart of the Gemini coven before being exiled due to what they were.

Failed Bonkai Drafts [4/5]

So this was my first idea–the one hat I had planned to finished but never did obviously. I think I stopped because it got a little too preachy and too much exposition. I kind of remember where it was going but ultimately it having no real direction is why I stopped and wrote other things.

Dream a Little Dream of Me:

It always started the
same.

Bonnie could hear the wind outside her dorm room causing
everything inside to rattle. It seemed nature was determined to keep her awake.
She still hadn’t quite gotten used to all of the noise and the wind didn’t seem
to help. Though she hated that hell she was in and the loneliness it brought
she felt herself missing the quiet.

Caroline was hiding out at her mother’s house and Elena was
at the Boarding house with Damon. She almost wished she was there too for the
familiarity, but she didn’t want to be reminded more of her time locked up. In
fact, she shouldn’t be having a hard time sleeping since every reminder of that
time was either far away or locked up, but the feeling of unease still hadn’t
faded.

At first she thought it was because not enough time had
passed, but it had been almost a month since she locked Kai up and she still
feels this way. Maybe I need a change in
scenery.
She imagines running far away from this place—the place she’s died
a thousand times, the place she’s suffered over and over. Maybe I’ll go to Paris, she thinks, and then maybe I can get some sleep there.  But alas there was nothing she could do about
it right now.

She sits up and sighs angrily. She had enough to deal with,
insomnia just added to the growing pile of shit that was her life. Packing up
and leaving sounded more and more attractive. She daydreamed about it. All the
places she hasn’t been able to go because she was needed here—because she died
here, because she was sentenced an eternity here. She was starting to wonder where
the real hellhole actually was because things certainly hadn’t improved since
she got back.

Her thoughts are interrupted by a something tapping on the
window. She first ignores it brushing it off as the wind, but then it gets
louder and sounds like a fist banging on the window hard. She was surprised the widow hadn’t broken yet. Her instincts
are telling her to leave. Whatever is at the window isn’t worth her time and
energy, but her curiosity is stronger. She cautiously approached the window
magic ready at the hand. When she gets to the window, as quickly as she can,
she swipes the curtain out of the way and finds nothing.

There’s nothing there but the old oak tree that sits right
outside the dorm. For a second she wonders if she’s started hearing things. It
wouldn’t be the first time. While she was isolated in that prison world her
mind made up a lot of sounds just to cope. She wonders if her mind was still in
the same mode. But then she hears a lamp fall off the table and when she turns
around there he is.

“Miss me.”

She considers her options. She could motus him out of the way and run for the door or jump out of the
window. Either way she’s not sure how long before he catches her—he always catches her. Would it be long
enough for her to get help? Everyone was about an hour away. Did she think she
could hold him off for that long?

“What do you want Kai?”

“You know what I want Bonnie.”

“Well, you’re not getting it. Why are you are here? How did
you get out?”

“I don’t know Bonnie? Why am I here? It’s your dream.”

Bonnie stares at him with confusion. Why would she be
dreaming about him? This was supposed to stop when she locked him away.

“Could it be guilt?”
His voice interrupts her thoughts. “Do you feel bad about leaving me with those
monsters?”

She gets a closer look at him and sees bite marks, riddled
across every piece of exposed skin and she feels bad for a moment, but then she
thinks about her time away and what he did to her and the feeling goes away.

She looks at him in contempt. “No it’s what you deserved.”

“Really?” He steps closer to her. “Who made you judge, jury,
and executioner?”

“No one,” she says with a smile.

“Ahh, so the all mighty Bonnie Bennett admits that she was
in the wrong.”

“I didn’t say that,” she says playfully

“But you did something that doesn’t align with your
morality.”

“Well, I had a choice, me or morality, I chose me.”

“Where was this mentality months ago when we had the choice
to leave together?”

Failed Bonkai Drafts [3/5]

So this one is a bit shorter. I had this idea about Kai visiting Bonnie frequently after she left him 1903, and this is one version of it before I gave up and moved on to the next thing. This actually ends at a semi-conclusion, very ominous.

Tell Me a Story:

Tell me a story.

There once was a boy
who had the power to change everything about me.

And did you let him?

No.

Bonnie eyes open. It’s still the middle of the night and
Caroline and Elena are asleep. She knows she can’t go back to sleep—that he’ll
keep haunting her.

It didn’t have to be
this way.

“Yes it did.”

She throws the covers off of her and gets out of bed. It’s
become a routine at this point. She grabs her shoes and her jacket and goes for
a walk.

She ends up in the woods just outside campus where she knows
she won’t run into anybody. She needs to be alone. The irony isn’t lost on her.

You left me with those
monsters.

“You are the monster,” she shouts into the night.

“Talking to yourself?”

She jumps at the voice and turns toward it. Her eyes widen
as she sees who it is.

“What are you doing here?” she mutters to herself.

“You tell me, it’s your dream.” He steps toward her closer
to the light when she gets a better look at him. He looks worn with purple
under his eyes almost like he’s dead. There are bite marks riddle across every
visible trace of skin below his head. He looked like he came straight out of a
horror movie and yet she isn’t scared. That’s not the feeling that’s
overwhelming her.

She closes her eyes and begins shaking her head. “No, no, I
woke up.”

“Did you? You know the mind can play some awful tricks.”

“Shut up.”

“She’s getting feisty everyone. Watch out, she just might
stab you in the back.”

She scoffs. “You’re lucky that’s all I did.”

“You don’t believe that,” he says matter-of-factly.

“What makes you think that?”

“Because I’m here.”

She’s spends the majority of her day groggy wondering what
it all means. He’s been in her dreams before, but not like this—not that
vulnerable. She contemplates what it all means while she’s in her statistics
class.

You left me with those
monsters.

“No I didn’t I left you where you belonged!”  Her entire class looks back at her confused.
She ignores them and packs up her stuff and leaves.

She didn’t know why she went back to college. It’s not as
though there was anything there for her. She supposed it was because it was the
closest to normal she was ever going to get, but she was slowly realizing that
normal was not what she needed. Normal was thrown out the window for her the
moment she died. Survival was key now.

Then why am I here?

I don’t know.

Failed Bonkai Drafts [2/5]

This one ends on an incomplete note as well, but at least it’s not mid sentence. I truly do not know what she was going to say and I have a feeling that I didn’t when I wrote which is why that’s where I stopped and started a new draft because I as running out of time.

Coming Home

Bonnie stood outside her home. Her house may have been a few
blocks away, but this was home. This was the place she felt most safe and she
hadn’t been able step foot in it since Grams died. She was the reason she
called this home and she feared the empty feeling that would come from her not
being there. Her father hired movers to put all hers stuff in storage. He had
planned on selling the place and her stuff, but Bonnie had insisted. She knew
that she would come back someday.

Kai walks past her groaning from holding a heavy box. “I
still don’t understand why we couldn’t hire movers. It would have been lot
easier.”

Bonnie gives him a look. “Because I did want strangers
touching my stuff.”

“Well, can we at least use magic?” Kai whines.

“Kai, I’m not using magic on something as trivial as moving
boxes.”

“And you don’t have to.”

“We’ve been over this, there are something you need to
experience the old fashion way.”

“And this is one of them?”

“This is one of them.”

“Whatever you say my dear, you’re lucky I love you.”

“And you’re lucky I tolerate you.”

It was his turn to give her a look which she returns right
back.

“Come on get a move on it, you only move into you’re first
place once.”

He shakes his head and does what she says. “The things I do
for love,” he mutters to himself.

Later that evening when all the boxes are inside and they
sit on the floor in their living room with only a box of pizza between them and
candles as their only lighting. It would almost seem romantic if they both
weren’t so exhausted. It was amazing what the accomplished by themselves. The
only thing they had left to do was get the furniture out of storage.

Kai takes one last bite and throws the crust into the box.
He stares at Bonnie watching her eat. He clears his throat.

“So you want to tell me why this meant so much to you?”

“Moving in with my boyfriend? I thought that meant a lot to
both of us.”

“It does, but why did it have to be just us, no movers, not
even your friends.”

“Maybe I just wanted to get you alone.” She start to crawl
her way to him.

He smirks. “And you needed manual labor to do that?”

“How else was going to get you all nice and sweaty.” She
closes the gap between them and sits in his lap.

“I can think a few ways.”

“Want to show me them.”

He captures her mouth in a kiss and grabs her hips pushing
her down on him. She grinds on him in return. As she starts pushing him onto
his back he stops them leaving Bonnie wanting more.

“As awesome as this is, and trust me it’s awesome, you still
haven’t answered my question.”

Bonnie sighs in annoyance. “You’re going to think it’s
stupid.”

“Why would I think anything that comes out of your mouth is
stupid?”

“Because it is.”

“Then tell me anyways.”

“No.” She burrows herself in his shoulder.

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Banana.”

“What?”

“C’mon just tell me.”

“You going to have to work harder than that.”

Failed Bonkai Drafts [1/5]

So I was looking through my Secret Santa folder from last year and found a lot starts to to fics that were going to be my gift but I was never able to finished and am never going to because I have no idea where I was going with them. I didn’t want them to go to complete waste so I’m posting them here. Not that they will be completely unfinished an leave off on a weird note. If anyone wants to use them feel free, but I doubt anyone will because they aren’t much.

With out further ado:

Truth or Dare

“Truth or dare?” Kai slurred out laying on the floor.

“Really, are we in middle school?” Bonnie says equally as
drunk sprawled on the couch.

“C’mon, I never got to play it as a kid so just humor me.”

“Alright fine, truth?”

“Is this the worst Christmas you’ve ever had?”

“No,” she says casually.

“Really?” he says looking over to her.

“Truth or dare.” She ignores his inquiry.

“Well I don’t want to be boring so I guess dare.”

“Hmm…” Bonnie searches in the back of her brain for
something he really won’t like. “I dare you to say something nice about your family.”

“Ugh, boring. Pick something else.”

“No. The rules of the game are you do whatever I dare you
and I dare you to say something nice about them.”

“Fine, my brother is good at video games.”

“That’s it. Your brother’s good at video games. There’s
nothing else you can think of that you like about them?’

“I never said I liked that about him and it’s my turn, so
truth or dare?”

“Truth.”

He makes a face, but then smiles. “What was your first
sexual experience?”

Bonnie rolls her eyes knowing he thought she wouldn’t
answer. “I was fifteen with the mayor’s son at one of the many many functions
his parents throw. We snuck off to his room where he ate me out, badly, and I
blew him. And no I didn’t swallow.” She smirks at the shocked expression on his
face.

“Truth or dare?”

“Truth.”

“I thought you said you didn’t want to be boring.”

“Well things just got interesting.”

“Alright, what was your first sexual experience?”

“Original.”

“You knew it was coming or else you wouldn’t have said truth.”

“Not as exciting as sucking the mayor’s son off, but it
involved, me, a dark closet, and my sister’s friend.”

“Was this friend hot?”

“Shh, I’m getting to it.”

“We were about 13, and it was Jo’s first sleepover ever.
People usually weren’t allowed to see
the house, let alone come in it. I think her name was Trish, I don’t
remember,

ADHD at it’s finest. Something else distracted me, I don’t know what and I ended mid sentence never to know what was going to happen because I’ve completely forgotten.

makeashadowblr:

so re: bonnie stabbing and leaving kai behind in the 1903 pw…

it can be deduced that damon and bonnie conspired to betray kai (i think there’s a deleted scene where bonnie tells elena as much right before they portal jump back to the real world). we, the viewers, also see a very different kai bc we saw the effects of the merge on him. bonnie did not. she saw his half assed apology and his flirting at the dinner about the 1903 ascendant… she didn’t really spend enough time with post-merge kai to see there’s a new him, not really.

my question is…had kai not made that comment about gutting her all over again, (which was enough provocation given he played nice on thxgiving and then stabbed and abandoned her), do we think bonnie would’ve followed through on stabbing and leaving kai? like, had he been nice and mildly annoying the entire afternoon and made no off the wall comments about the potential of him hurting her again would she feel justified in stabbing him in the back (literally and metaphorically)? would she have attacked him? or just tried to stun him and then leave him? would he have had a chance to explain himself (or her to find out she couldn’t kill him)?

thoughts?

I’m going to preface this by saying I was completely on board with Bonnie leaving Kai and for me this was never some big injustice to the characters. While I agree that more consequences should have been doled out towards Damon for me that doesn’t equate every evil character gets the same treatment as Damon i.e slap on the wrist. It just means Damon needed consequences.

With that out of the way I don’t think it would have changed much. I remember the episode when Kai tries to apologize and she has it out with Damon. She has a phone call right after to Jeremy where she essentially breaks up with him and tells him she’s different now via voicemail. She was out for blood to begin with and I always felt crediting Damon with the idea was an injustice to Bonnie because I felt like that was something she would have done on her own regardless. The only reason the idea is credited to Damon is because the writers needed a way for him to get back into Bonnie’s good graces.

But back to the question at hand, had she seen his change more would she have reconsidered? No, her speech after her grabs her and shouts “listen to me” explains why because even with Luke’s empathy the old Kai is still in there and seeing the change wouldn’t make her think otherwise because for her that’s not a real change.

Which brings me to the issue I have with most redemption arcs on TVD, the change is always due to someone else, it’s never a conscious decision on their part. With the exception of Tyler–because you can trace back to the first episode of season 2 when Tyler decides to be better for himself because he doesn’t like himself in his current form, and you can trace several actions where he works at this that aren’t related to other people–every character who goes through “a change for the good” it’s all due to someone else, usually romance. Kai is an exception since it’s not due to trying to get the girl, but it still a change he wouldn’t have otherwise done himself and when that’s the case the change is otherwise fleeting for as long as those circumstances are in place.

And feel like Bonnie knows that. She didn’t trust him when he started “changing” for Elena especially since he threatened her life often after. She never trusted Klaus when he “changed” (which is weird to say since he has a redemption arc but stays absolutely the same, it’s almost as confusing as Damon’s), and she definitely never trusted Katherine like every smart person. So seeing him changed really doesn’t seem like the factor that would change her mind about him.

In fact, based on what makes her feelings change for a person, “being good” does not seem to be a factor at all, time is. Spending 4 months alone with Damon is what makes him a friend to her. Spending 3 years in forced confinement with Enzo is what changes her opinion on him. Hell, even Nora, spending more time with her, getting to know her is what sparked that friendship (and the route I feel they should have went romance wise in S7 instead of B*nzo). So the only thing I think would have stopped her from stabbing and leaving Kai was the one thing he did not have, time.

And that’s what I mourn most with this ship, they never had enough time. They’re only alone in the prison world for 2 episodes before he gets sent back and she’s left there. And they’re only together back in the real world for about 2 episodes before she leaves him in 1903. They needed time that was never granted.

TL;DR: No, I don’t think that would have changed things.

Boo-Kai | Day 4: Pop Culture

Fight Club

He doesn’t know when it started but he knew it had to do with Bonnie Bennett. She saw right through him at the support group meetings, but then again, it takes one to know one–he just wished she didn’t disrupt his sleep–he has terrible insomnia.

That’s when he met Malachai Parker.
He looked how he wanted to look. He fucked like he wanted to fuck. He was smart, capable, and most importantly, he was free in all the ways that he wasn’t. It wasn’t long before he realized who Malachai truly was.
