Brian Young, Neil Reynolds, Chad Fiveash, and James Stoteraux seemed to have wrote/co-wrote most (I think all actually) of the episodes with my favorite Bonkai scenes in S6, as well as the episodes that established who Kai was as a character. Melinda Hsu Taylor (she might have co-wrote “your hand on my chest” with Neil, but I won’t ever forgive her for that throwaway line of Kai calling Elena pretty in her stand alone ep), Brett Matthews and Rebecca Sonnenshine (both did the cat & mouse games of 1994 along with Chad and James) did as well.
Tbqh it seems the whole writing team banded together during the BK development in s6 and the trajectory seemed to change when Plec and Dries had a hand in writing more. Neil wrote 8.13 all by himself (“did it sound like she missed me?”; “let me say hi”; window heart – he also wrote 6.17 by himself 😭, so I’m ‘bout to hail him as Bonkai king of the TVD writers) while Brett and Shukree Hassan Tilghman wrote 8.14 (I don’t recognize Shukree but if they wrote “are you here to punish me?” then BLESS THEM).
You are correct in that Plec/Dries didn’t write any pro-BK episodes unless they co-wrote with (not each other) one of these guys. They wrote the shitty s6 finale together tho,so I mean… If not for the Woodgraham chemistry and Chris’s unerring ability to stay IC (his face when Damon left her!) even with a crap script, that episode wouldn’t have been very BK at all.
My favorite role of Chris aka the role that introduced me to him was his role as Kai Parker in The Vampire Diaries. The moment he appeared in 6×03 I absolutely fell in love with him. He played Kai Parker role so perfectly and he was the reason I kept watching TVD after giving up on it around season 3.
“Because he wont tell us where Lily has her little ‘family’ hidden unless we, and I’m quoting here, ‘bond with him.’” Damon catches Bonnie’s glare and tries not to laugh at her discomfort. “Come on, Bon. It could be worse.”
“Hey Bonster, it’s time for your lapdance!” Kai smiles as he approaches with a redhead siliconed stripper who smells like strawberries.
Head canon: Trapped in Cade’s hell, Katherine finds herself intrigued by the one man she can’t seem to wrap around her finger. Needling for a way to make the vampire-witch hybrid her ally, she offers him a trade. If he helps her get revenge against the Salvatores, she will help him drag the one person he can’t seem to let go of straight to their hellion paradise: Bonnie Bennett.
Ok this is the only kaitherine that makes sense😂 this is really interesting👀👀 are u gonna do a one shot😫😫👀👀😭
this at least makes more sense, Kai would never work with Katherine, unless it meant somehow getting closer to Bonnie Bennett.
Yeah it’s hard enough believing she had Cade wrapped around her finger, but definitely not Kai. Kai’s only use for Katherine was to use her and that’s even in canon.
