okay real talk for a second— aside from bonnie, i think rebekah is my favorite female character in the tvd universe

I loved Rebekah for a lot of reasons but the main one is that no other canon character could convey my hate and the hard truths about Elena better that her.

Katherine was always too petty and self involved to say anything of value about her, most villains essentially fell to her feet except Kai and all he did was torture her. Caroline got there sometimes but it was too soaked in pettiness and self-deprecation.

But Rebekah she always hit the nail on the head, especially that episode when they were looking for the cure and explained exactly everyone’s function but couldn’t find one for Elena essentially explaining the entire series.

Really? She opened up to you about her family, her life. She talked about how Henrik died and how Mikael stabbed them all through the heart with a sword. Then you proceeded to dagger her, killed her brother, wanted to kill Nik until you found out all your loved ones would die. In order for her family to be safe she killed you because that was the only way to get rid of Alaric. Then you proceeded to kill yet another brother. How are you any better? You’re not. No one on this damn show is better than one another and it’s time the character’s start realizing that. Some character’s need to stop acting like the good guy when they aren’t.
