underrated klonnie scenes: the shameless looks alaric!klaus was giving bonnie in 2×18 (pt. I)

The most natural thing in the world was for Klaus to have gone after her in Season 3. The. most. natural. thing. Even if it wasn’t reciprocated. Instead we get Klaroline where Klaus falls in love with his sister’s doppelganger. 

I read a meta somewhere where the writer analyzed how it actually takes more effort for them to keep Bonnie’s character insignificant and irrelevant to other characters and plots than for them to write her into the main story. And that it takes far more effort to make Caroline significant – they have to literally turn her into a vampire and then start randomly inserting her into plots – than to just let Bonnie’s character play the part that is in her DNA. Bennett witch. Tied to every single magical event in this show. Latest in a long line of extremely powerful bad-ass witches who’ve encountered the current cast of vampires at some point in time in history. You don’t think Katherine won’t have tried to win Emily’s great-grand-daughter to her side? Kol won’t have wanted to get front row tickets to Bennett action? Rebecca won’t have been fascinated by her? The Founder’s Council won’t have recruited her? 

Esther Mikaelson won’t have invited Ayanna’s descendants that she was literally channeling to the fucking ball?  Matt Donovan gets an invitation but Bonnie and Abby don’t?

I’m not even going into all the connections she has with the other players – 

Elena’s BFF. Elena’s brother’s GF. Protected by Damon Salvatore. Good friends with Stefan Salvatore. (At least before they dismantled that relationship completely).

This show. I kid you not. They will bend themselves into pretzels to make their Bonnie-hate work. They will literally cut themselves into pieces before they let this character just be. 

Agreed to all this! they missed out big time. Klaus should have been interested in her, as he was giving her those eyes from day 1. Even if not as a crush, he should have wanted her power!#

The fact in the Originals he uses the witches power, and does see Davina as a good rival/threat/power source – makes me wonder why he was so dismissive of Bonnie?

The writers and plague do work very hard to keep her in the background. Even making her make up and hair less attractive, so she does not out-shine the other girls.

The fact she was the one who separated the siblings blood, so they could live, and Klaus and Becca did not stop and think ‘wow, she will be useful in future!’ is crazy.

Also – what you said about Kol and Kat. The fact they both attacked her, without even trying to get her on side, makes no sense at all. They go on about how Bennetts are the most powerful useful witches, but don’t seem interested in Bonnie?

Katherine needed someone like Bonnie, but she used her cousin instead. Kol was the worst part, because no way a witch-fanboy like himself, would miss out on a chance to have a Bennett on his side.

This damn show……
