– Julius Caesar
As much as I love Kai, I never understood how a room full of witches didn’t try to protect themselves even though he’s the leader. It obviously didn’t stop Liv from trying and almost succeeding in killing him once before and it was just her so why didn’t they attempt to stop him?
My guess is because if he does they all die, so with him they need to approach it more delicately. They need to subdue him, not kill him which is slightly more tricky. What I’m more curious about is why did they spend all that time trying to save the twins when they should have been trying to sedate him?
A simple knock out spell would’ve worked or go the joker route and hit him upside the head with a crowbar. Lmao. This scene never made any sense. These are the same people who went out of their way to alienate him which made him even more unhinged so them trying to reason with him or subdue him wouldn’t make any more sense than what happened I suppose. Someone could’ve yelled “Bonnie’s butt ass naked and on a pole RIGHT behind you!” and that would have distracted him long enough to move everyone to fucking Italy.

That definitely would, but the sad fact is they have no clue who Bonnie is especially in relation to Kai. The only ones who do spent a lot of time dismissive and disregarding her (Liv). Jo might have but she was unfortunately dead by that point.
I’m glad you brought up how dismissive Liv was to Bonnie. That’s my only issue with her. Honestly, her, Luke, and Jo were very dismissive regarding Bonnie. There were a few wedding planning scenes where Jo is getting snappy towards her and I’m like….well excuse you. I would just chalk it up to BrideZilla moments, but it was only directed at Bonnie. Like she wasn’t really short with anyone else. That pissed me off.
Plus the fact they never had Jo actually talk with Bonnie about what happened. I get it if Jo just didn’t care enough about Bonnie to ask how she was doing (though should have because Bonnie matters but atlas), but Jo just had no questions to ask how Bonnie got away from Kai, which prison world they left him in, how to make sure he wouldn’t escape again, if he’s going to be safe though trapped, about Grams, etc. These questions would have been self centered but would make sense considering all the bullshit that was happening then. Plus many are life or death, so even BrideZilla tunnel vision wouldn’t have overrided Jo’s focus to get some answers.
Yeah that’s one of the things that drive me insane about the show on general. When Bonnie is connected to characters the writers always find a way to shove either Caroline, Elena, or Damon into her individual storylines so that she becomes irrelevant to these characters she’s connected despite the fact that their irrelevant to the MFG. Season 1 they do that with Ben and incidentally Damon, season 2 with Luka, season 3 with Abby, season 4 with Shane, and seasons 5-6 with all members of the Gemini coven except for Kai their outcast which should tell you something. If she’s not a means to their end she’s irrelevant to them which is even more aggravating because it’s bad enough her friends do this but now added extraneous characters into the mix.
