Day 25
Prompt: inhuman
Characters: Bonnie Bennett, Klaus Mikaelson
Note: follows this drabble (day 20) and this drabble (day 24)

“Why don’t we take our lunch outside?  Have a picnic?” Bonnie announces one afternoon.

Hope seems slumped over her plate and the cook (a lovely woman named Ruth, one of her few fellow staff that treats Bonnie with kindness) looks on with concern.  At Bonnie’s suggestion, the corner of Ruth’s mouth turn up.  “A splendid idea!  I have basket somewhere.  Just give me a moment.”

If Hope is against the idea, she does not say.  Instead she watches with her impossibly big eyes as Bonnie and Ruth work to pack their food away.  Ruth hands the basket to Bonnie and the two exchange a look. Ruth understands.

The two of them need to get away from the oppressing feeling that seems to seep out of the very walls around them.
