Bonnie bulks at the idea of celebrating her sweet 16 at first (she considers that Elena spent most of hers wondering where Stefan was and Caroline nearly died on her birthday as proof point why it should be avoided at all cost).
But her friends are persuasive — and third time’s a charm right?
In the end, she agrees to something modest. A chance to enjoy themselves but nothing so over the top that it begs to be spoiled by whatever lurks in the night. She gives Caroline a look when she stresses that part. At least Caroline has the good sense to look sheepish.
