Actually, Caroline plays a fairly important role aND matt was the reason for elena becoming a vampire and without elena becoming a vampire, a lot wouldn’t have happened so matt is relevant
Ah yes, the very important Elena vampire plot where she becomes even more dead weight and is more useless than she was as human. And it’s not like there were a thousand other ways that could have happened WITHOUT MATT *insert sarcasm*. He is sooo relevant.
And Caroline when she’s not a Klaus distraction she the glorified babysitter for plot hole characters. That makes her so relevant like I don’t know how the plot could have went on without. It’s almost like the show would have been better without her getting an unnecessary amount of screentime contributing absolutely fuck all to the overall plot.
For more information on why they’re irrelevant read here, here, and here.
I knew tvd was shit when I realised that I loved all the villains and hated all the people that were considered “the good guys” (-my girl bon ofc).
For me it was season 3 and sitting through Alaric’s storyline. It wasn’t the focus that season nor was it the worst by a long shot (turning Bonnie’s mom and the focusing on Elena’s pain and then only having Elena apologized to comes to mind), but I was a very casual viewer and at the time my DVR malfunctioned a lot so I missed a lot if episodes for context, but the acting alone was enough to bring me completely out of the show and sit back and think “wow this is awful”.
And here’s the kicker, I stayed around for 1 and half seasons more before the show became completely unwatchable in season 5. I should have cut my losses then bit at least O got to see Kai.
