“Nik’s always been resourceful. He worked in the shipyards until he earned enough to go abroad. I daresay he’s had more professions than the Devil himself. But his commissions keep him well enough these days.”
Marcel remained skeptical. “Surely you don’t expect me to believe his art pays for sojourns in the Champs-Élysées.”
“Art hung exclusively in courtly boudoirs, darling,” Rebekah said, with an insinuating lift of her eyebrows. “Between the French and the Italian nobility Nik has more private commissions than he knows what to do with.”
Marcel gave Bonnie a gracious, discreet smile.
“In any case,” Rebekah continued blithely, “those commissions allow Nik to paint what he likes. With a few more successful shows – and a wealthy bride – he won’t need to serve as pornographer to Europe’s finest.”
Marcel cleared his throat, but Bonnie hardly paid mind to the salacious topic of conversation.
“Will they be staying long? Your brother and his friends, I mean,” she asked at last, taking a sip of tea to calm her nerves.
“Oh two months at least! I will stand for nothing less,” Rebekah gushed. “Why, my only sibling in the world has yet to meet my children.”
“Of course,” Bonnie agreed absently.
Two months. Surely she could endure being under the same roof as Niklaus for two months. What was such a short span of time in comparison to the eight years that lay behind her, and the many more years that would unfurl without him afterwards? And should he become engaged during those two months well – she would simply endure that too. She was a widow and a governess now, not some giddy girl. She would make do.
in quietness, in time excerpt fromchapter i
(so this is a klonnie au i’ve been working on for a couple months. it’s a historical au, victorian specifically, and all human. i’m hoping to publish the first chapter when i get about 4-5 chapters written but in the meantime…hope y’all enjoy this little slice!)
Listen I know next to nothing about Carina beyond what I’ve learned from these asks, but what I do know is when someone is being fake and out of the blue congratulations and compliments falls under that category, hard.
I honestly don’t know what she wants to ask for, Legacies seems like the easiest answer but also makes the least sense given their mission to erasure the Bennetts and everything they’ve done. However, sadly that goal is a bit easier to accomplish when the Bennett is actually there for the comparison, but either way it still makes no sense since they can create one out of thin air. It’s probably more of a PR thing at this point.
I come on tumblr and see all these posts talking about Bamon sleeping together, so I rush to find the source. Are you kidding me? You’re basing this on a joke that Julie Plec said in 2010? Remember, her exact words were “I think by the end of the series, Damon will have slept with EVERYONE…man, woman, and child.“ Now do anyone of you really see Damon sleeping with Jeremy, Matt, Tyler, etc.? Or becoming a pedophile? Come on, it means nothing. We all know JP will never let Bonnie be with a "murderous vampire”, she practically said so.
And I’m sorry if that sounds harsh, but tough love babies. I already see people getting uber excited and threatening Julie if it doesn’t happen. It’s bad enough that we barely get anything for our girl. I hate when Bonnie fans get their hopes set high, only to get crushed in the end. I know how that feels and I don’t wish that on any Brigader.
The number 1 rule for all Bonnie/anybody shippers: Ship it loud and proud in fanon, but expect nothing in canon.
The number 1 rule for all Bonnie/anybody shippers: Ship it loud and proud in fanon, but expect nothing in canon.
This is a really old post and now completely irrelevant, but I’d like to talk about this mentality Plec created for Bonnie fans. Now this was true to the very end but the moment she created Klaroline out of thin air was the moment this stopped being valid and the clear distaste Plec had for Bonnie, Kat, and her fans became something no one could deny because logic was clearly no longer what ruled the narrative of the show (not that it really ever did).
She created a world where having any hopes for the black character was simply unrealistic and I don’t understand why people still tolerate it. Sure that quote wasn’t really one to have any theories on, but it wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities because Damon in fact slept with every female character EXCEPT Bonnie and that says more about Plec and her racial biases than it does the narrative.
You have a harsh truth, but I don’t think you proved why it was a truth, instead you went off on people who had every right to be excited about a possible ship becoming canon, and not the racist bitch who’s biases were what was actually keeping it from happening.
Expecting nothing from canon may have been the best way to starve off disappointment, but it’s a mentality we shouldn’t have had to have when fans of every other character never had to face the same disappointment because they got what they wanted, and they got it because they fit the profile of someone (white) who Plec felt deserved viable love interests.
